a note fromm mabel

Mabel heere.

Woh, look at me. I am soo sleepee. Mommee tuk thes peechtur after thes peeple-dog cam to my haus. They colled it a baybee. Wot is this? I thot. It loked like a leetle peeple but crowled on the flor and stol my toys lik a dog. And it beet Mommees fingur with its shorp teth. Wot was this theng theenking? Onlee I can do thees to Mommee!

The other peeple care-eed peeple-dog into the rom and held her in theyr orms. They fed her fud from a smol powch. They kised her fase and let her bite them. Thes got me theenking. Whye dont Mommee and Daddee caree me like that? Whye dont I get to eet fud from a powch? Whye dont I get to sit on sumunes lap at the tabl when there is fud? Eet makes no sens.

Peeple-dog tuched me with its tinee peeple hand. I jomped on it to say helo frendly-like, bot Mommee puled me oway. But when she wasnt luking I chasd peeple-dog and tryed to ask it how.  And whye. And then I got veree tired. I ned to tawlk to it to fynd out how it got everyun to do wotever it wonts.

If you reed thees, peeple-dog, cawl me.

Love it! My dog Biscuit also does not understand small children. Except for she tries to assert her dominance in a most unattractive and embarrassing fashion which I will not detail.

I had a sneaking suspicion Mabel's been taking calls when we're not around.

Don't worry, Mabel, I don't know what to make of those tiny peeple-dogs either. So confusing.

Hi Mabel. Uncle Buster here. I never met a peeple-dog. Maybe one day your Momee and Dadee will bring one to my house!

Sorry about Buster. He can be very pushy sometimes.

Yes, very subtle, Buster.

I am so glad you have a little dog (a fur kid) to keep you amused. I wish ours could speak - sometimes. Our youngest dog likes to curl up with his 'baby' just like Mabel in this picture.
